This week on the podcast we talked to Lauren’s childhood friend of twenty years, Nichole, and her husband Josh who have just returned home after two years living an expat life in Singapore and traveling all over Asia. We

were fortunate enough to take a peak at the life Nichole and Josh lived as expats in Singapore as they discussed some of their must-see destinations.

Hawker Centres (outdoor food courts)

When we discussed the tours they enjoyed most during their four month trip through Asia, they talked about the following:

Island Hopping Excursions in El Nido, Philippines

Nichole and Josh booked their excursions through the beach resort they stayed at, Caalan Beach Resort at Taiyo Village. As she mentioned on the podcast, the tours are broken down by letter (A-D) and each excursion is specified on the resorts website. Nichole also talk about how to get to El Nido and highlights the excursions and all other sorts of things to see/do/eat in El Nido on her blog.

Tokyo Food Tour

I’m still singing “Arigato, Mr. Roboto” in my head. One of the best experiences in Japan for Josh and Nichole in Japan was the “all-star food tour” they took in Tokyo with Arigato Food Tours. Nichole also writes about the tour and shares photos here.

The DMZ from Seoul

This is certainly a bucket list item for us. The DMZ is just so many things at once–historic, mysterious, and the true definition of the word awesome. As Nichole mentioned, it’s just about a 40 minute drive from Seoul so it seems like a tour here should be on everyone’s list while visiting South Korea.
